Afghanistan and Pakistan are all set to square off in a three-match T20I series scheduled to commence on Friday, March 24. The two sides will contest at a neutral venue with all three matches taking place in the UAE at the iconic Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah.
Notably, spin sensation Rashid Khan will lead a strong 17-man Afghanistan squad in the forthcoming series. Former skipper Mohammad Nabi, who stepped down after the T20 World Cup 2022 debacle has also been included in the squad.
However, opener Hazratullah Zazai and middle-order batter Rahmat Shah have been dropped from the squad against Pakistan. Afghanistan have picked southpaw Sediqullah Atal, who could make his debut for the side in the series as an opener.
On the other hand, regular skipper Babar Azam will not feature in the forthcoming series for Pakistan as Shadab Khan has been given the responsibility of leading the side. Pacer spearhead Shaheen Afridi, who recently led Lahore Qalandars to a record second consecutive title, has been excluded from the squad.
Moreover, young pace sensation Ihsanullah will join the camp and could possibly make his debut for the Men in Green. Speaking about their head-to-head records, Pakistan have dominated the rival side with three wins in three T20I outings.
