Andhra Cricket Association awards Nitish Reddy INR 25 lakh cash prize after MCG ton

Nitish Kumar Reddy dazzled with a spectacular ton in the fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on December 28. Coming into bat at number eight, the right-handed batter notched up a spectacular 127-run partnership with Washington Sundar for the eighth wicket and helped India reduce the hefty deficit.
Thanks to his century, India now trail by 116 runs and he is unbeaten on 105 runs. His achievement has been applauded by his home state, Andhra Pradesh. The Andhra Cricket Association has announced INR 25 lakh rupees cash prize for their local hero.
"It is a fortunate day and a happiest moment for the Andhra Cricket Association. We are very happy that a boy from Andhra has been picked for the Test format and international T20 format. As an honour, on behalf of the Andhra Cricket Association, Rs 25 lakh prize money is being given to Nitish Kumar Reddy," (ACA) President Kesineni Sivanath said as quoted by TOI.
Nitish is understanding the situations very well: Patel
After Hardik Pandya decided to stay away from the longer format as his body could not cope up with the workload the format demanded, India were in dire need of a pacer all-rounder. Nitish filled in the position really well and the fact was seconded by former India cricketer, Parthiv Patel.

“He is understanding the situations very well. The way he handled the second new ball today and by and large, he showed how Test cricket is played. He has definitely impressed with his batting. And when you have a medium pacer all-rounder who can bat as well, he balances the team very well,” said Patel as quoted by HT.
