Anshul Kamboj becomes third bowler in Ranji history to take 10 wickets in an innings

The ongoing Ranji Trophy clash between Haryana and Kerala saw history being scripted as pacer Anshul Kamboj became only the third player in Ranji Trophy history to take 10 wickets in an innings.
Haryana and Kerala took on each other in the round 5 games of the Ranji Trophy 2024/25 and the clash began with Kerala coming in to bat first,. The show belonged to Kamboj, the 23-year-old, who took dismissed every single Kerala batter who walked out to bat and helped Haryana bundle out their opponents for 291 in the first innings.
Overall, Kamboj is the sixth Indian to claim a 10-wicket haul in first class cricket, while he is only the third bowler to do so in Ranji Trophy after Bengal's Premangshu Chatterjee (10/20 against Assam in Jorhat in January 1957) and Rajasthan's Pradeep Sunderam (10/78 against Vidarbha in Jodhpur in November 1985). Furthermore, Subhash Gupte (1954-55), Anil Kumble (1999) and Debasis Mohanty (2000-01) have also achieved feat in first class cricket.

Kamboj's figures are the best ever by a Haryana bowler, with him surpassing the record of Joginder Sharma, who took eight wickets against Vidarbha during the 2004-05 season. The star bowler bowled 30.1 overs and conceded 49 runs for his record 10 wickets.
Overall, Kamboj has 57 wickets from 19 matches at an average of 24.14 in his career.
