The ongoing T20 World Cup in Australia is entering its business end as teams look to seal their semi-final spot, with the fixtures coming in thick and fast. Former Indian cricketer Nikhil Chopra reckoned that New Zealand are a dangerous side even though Kane Williamson is going through a lean patch.

New Zealand started their T20 World Cup campaign by walloping defending champions and Trans-Tasman rivals Australia. But the Kiwis were halted in their tracks by an in-form English side to set up an exciting finish to the race for semi-final qualifications. Former Indian cricketer Nihkhil Chopra reckoned that New Zealand will be a dangerous side in the upcoming games despite their skipper's poor run with the bat.

"Finn Allen is an explosive batter, and he looks to take the full toll of the field restrictions at the start of the innings. I think the team management has given him the liberty to play his natural game as well. Devon Conway also impressed with his innings against Australia. Apart from Kane Williamson, all the other batters are in form, and it will be a warning for all the other teams, who won't be making the mistake of taking New Zealand lightly,"said Chopra on 'BatBricks7 presents Run Ki Runneeti' on CricTracker.

While New Zealand's qualification to the semis is quite straightforward as they just need a victory against Ireland, England and Australia will have to keep an eye on the margin of their victories apart from just the two points. England will be playing against Sri Lanka in the last fixture of this hotly-contested group.

"This group is shaping up quite nicely. New Zealand are aware that a win against Ireland will seal their semi-final spot due to their superior net run rate. Australia can go level on points with New Zealand after winning against Afghanistan. The last game of this group between England and Sri Lanka becomes interesting as England will be made aware of the margin of victory required to secure their birth in the semi-finals after Australia's victory," he added.
