Yuvraj Singh has said that the late great Bishan Singh Bedi's teachings inspire his coaching philosophy. The legendary Indian all-rounder had mentioned previously that Bedi played a major role in shaping his career. Now, Yuvraj has been mentoring talented youngsters from Punjab with ideologies similar to those of the former Indian left-arm spinner.

Yuvraj has been doing some fantastic work in Punjab cricket as he has been mentoring talents like Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma. While Shubman has established himself as one of the most talented players in world cricket at the moment, Abhishek has also been making heads turn with his performances, especially in the shortest format of the game.

Yuvraj, the 2011 ODI World Cup Player of the Tournament, shared that his coaching mantra stems from the guidance he received both on and off the field from Bedi. He also emphasised that his target is not just to improve the technical skills of the cricketers but also to instill the values of discipline, mental toughness, and adaptability traits he learned from Bedi.

"See, all the people I have learned from, whether it is in cricket or life, I try and implement it in my coaching or mentoring. Sir taught me a lot of good things, I implement it. Cricket has changed a lot...Its been 5 years since I have retired. So you have to adapat to what is in demand today," Yuvraj said while speaking to India Today.

Gujarat Titans are expected to revamp their coaching staff as reports of head coach Ashish Nehra and Director of Cricket Vikram Solanki leaving the franchise have been doing the rounds for quite some time. Also, another report which has intrigued cricket enthusiasts is the potential addition of Yuvraj to the coaching setup.

If Yuvraj is eventually appointed as Gujarat's head coach, he will be taking up the role for the first time. Cricket enthusiasts are waiting with bated breath to see the 42-year-old venturing into full-time coaching after his mentorship has worked wonders for the likes of Shubman and Abhishek.
