The legendary MS Dhoni once again left the entire stadium on its feet when he produced a stellar 28 off 9 to help his team post 176 runs on the board at Ekana Stadium. While CSK struggled against LSG at the start, Ravindra Jadeja and Dhoni made sure that they had something in hand by the end of 20 overs.

Seeing Dhoni operate at insane level, former cricketer Tom Moody spoke on his fitness at 42 and hunger for runs. Moody was appreciative of the fact that Dhoni doesn’t play any cricket before coming into IPL at still step ups for his team every single time with supreme fitness.

“42 years old, still very fit, still very focussed, still very hungry, but the puzzle is, he does not play any cricket coming in and playing in the IPL. It is hard to come out of the cold and suddenly have that expectation to be able to perform at an elite level is near impossible,” said Moody as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.

Former cricketer Wasim Jaffer also joined the queue to praise the veteran and added how hitting in death is too difficult and Dhoni still does it very smoothly. It is incredible to watch Dhoni deliver without any match practice, mulled Jaffer.

It's incredible to watch Dhoni do that without any match practice: Jaffer

“It's incredible. Hitting in the death is one of the most difficult things against the bowlers who are on top of their game, playing international cricket, and he does that so easily. It's incredible to watch him do that without any match practice,” said Jaffer.

Despite Dhoni’s brilliance, CSK lost the match by eight wickets as LSG skipper KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock stitched an unbeaten partnership of 134 runs and sealed the deal for the side. KL Rahul was declared player of the match for his 82* off 53.
