The couple recently hosted a sangeet ceremony which was reportedly attended by 70 guests. The Haldi ceremony in the meantime will be taking place on Monday morning and a grand reception of the wedding is reported to take place at Mumbai in a few days' time.
It is rumoured that approximately 100 guests will be present at the wedding ceremony. Cricketers like Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni are invited while from Bollywood, the likes of Jackie Shroff, Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar are reported to be present in the ceremony.
Meanwhile, a day prior to the wedding, Athiya’s father Suniel Shetty confirmed that the couple will meet the paparazzi and will also pose for a shoot after the grand ceremony.
“Aa rahe hain hum, kal unko leke aata hoon, bachchon ko (I am leaving today, will bring the kids tomorrow),” Suniel Shetty said. “Thank you, the way you guys have shown love, uske liye bahut bahut thank you,” he further added.
Notably, the duo has been posting adorable pictures with each other for a long time now and have also been dating for quite some time. Athiya along with her father has been spotted multiple times in various matches KL Rahul was playing while the Indian international was spotted attending the premiere of Athiya's brother Ahan’s debut film Tadap.
In the meantime, KL Rahul has been exempted from his duties by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and hence won’t be seen in action during the ongoing white-ball series against New Zealand. He is set to be available for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which is slated to begin on February 9. Interestingly, he will also act as the deputy for Rohit Sharma-led Indian side.
