Mohammed Siraj injured his hamstring after bowling a delivery at the fag end of the first session on Day 2 of the third Test between India and Australia at the Gabba in Brisbane. The right-arm seamer bowled with a lot of heart on Sunday, December 15 before being forced to walk off the field with a hamstring issue.

The incident occurred in the 37th over of the Australian innings. Siraj did some damage to his hamstring while bowling in that over. He tried to stretch it out but the damage had been done. The Hyderabad seamer called for the physio before deciding to leave the field. This was a massive moment in the game as Siraj was starting to look very threatening.

Akash Deep, who is playing his first Test match away outside India, stepped in to complete the four remaining balls in Siraj's over. Indian fans would have had their hearts in their mouths as their favourite team does not have too many part-time options to fill in.

Siraj returns to field much to delight of Indian fans

The 30-year-old is known for being a fighter, who knows how to overcome obstacles. He gave the Indian fans a massive relief when he walked back onto the field in the closing stages of the first session and also put in a dive to his right to stop a boundary at mid-on. However, he wasn't used with the ball.

Siraj bowled with a lot of heart in the first session but couldn't add to the nine wickets he has picked up from three games so far. The experienced seamer will look to produce a strong showing in the second session and help his team assert their dominance on Sunday. The home side finished the first session at 104/3 at the end of 43 overs. Steve Smith and Travis Head remained unbeaten at the crease and would want to extend their partnership in the post-lunch session.
