The Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT 2024-25) was another successful series for Australia who went on to win the series 3-1 after winning the fifth and final Test in Sydney. This has also made them the second team to qualify for the WTC final in the 2025 season. Besides, they will also face South Africa in June in hopes of claiming their second consecutive WTC title.

Though Travis Head and Jasprit Bumrah were one of the major highlights of the series, the leadership and performances of Pat Cummins were duly acknowledged by the cricket fraternity. The Aussie Skipper took 25 wickets from the five matches he has played at an average of 21.36 making him the highest wicket-taker in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy as well. However, this is not the only list he has topped after the series.

Cummins had taken a total of five wickets in the Sydney Test and is now the highest wicket-taker and the first bowler to take 200 wickets in WTC. He has completed the feat in only 47 matches with an average of 22.63 and an economy of 2.94. The other two bowlers who are behind him in the list are legendary off-spinner and teammate Nathan Lyon (196 wickets) and retired India all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin (195 wickets).
