Cricket Australia (CA) recently came forward and announced the 18-man squad that will be traveling to India to take them on in a three-match ODI series ahead of the World Cup 2023.

India and Australia will face each other in three ODIs, with the first one starting on Friday, September 22. The first game will be played at the Inderjit Singh Bindra Stadium in Mohali. The squad saw many injured players return to the lineup as Australia gears up to take on India

The likes of Pat Cummins, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, and Glenn Maxwell will be returning to the squad after injuries.

Cummins fractured his wrist while competing in the Ashes 2023. However, he is currently in South Africa with the side and will be a crucial part of the side in their upcoming series against India and in the World Cup.

Star batter Steve Smith injured his wrist tendon while playing in the Ashes 2023 as well. He was ruled out of the South Africa series but should play a huge role for his side against India.

Mitchell Starc is yet another player who injured himself in the Ashes 2023. He missed out on the South Africa tour due to groin soreness but with his return, Australia will receive a much-needed boost in their pacer bowling lineup.

Star all-rounder Glenn Maxwell injured himself after one training session during the T20I series against South Africa. He returned due to ankle soreness but has been cleared by the medical staff and is included in Australia’s lineup.
