Star Australia batter Steve Smith has scored only 19 runs in the last two Tests against India. He moved back to number four in the batting order but the cricketer is yet to find his feet and that’s a matter of concern, especially now that Australia’s spot in the World Test Championship finale is not yet confirmed. Amid this, all-rounder Mitchell Marsh showed his trust in Smith and expects him to get back his mojo in the third Test at Gabba.

Marsh added that he is not in a position to suggest things to Smith that he should work on. He noted that the former captain is a class player, who has scored plenty of runs for Australia and reminded that Smith stood up each time Australia needed him in the past.

“We know he's one of our best players ever and I'm certainly backing him to get some runs. I'm probably not in a position to tell Steve Smith what he should work on. We know he's a class player and he's scored a lot of runs for Australia and we know at times when we've needed him, he always seems to step up,” Marsh was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.

Right now Jasprit Bumrah is probably the best bowler in the world: Marsh

Star pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been sensational for India in the ongoing series. He has clinched 12 wickets in two matches so far in the series and is the leading wicket-taker. He has troubled the Australian batters and speaking about the same, Marsh noted that he is arguably the best bowler in the world but he is willing to take the challenge to Bumrah in the third Test.

“We know right now he's probably the best bowler in the world. It's just about getting up for that challenge, it's a big series. You want to take the best in the world on. That is certainly my mentality. Looking forward to facing him again. I think each batter has their own plans. As a batting unit we back each other's plans. I think when you have the best bowler in the world and you are just trying to see him off, he is going to have one with your name on it,” Marsh added.
