BAN vs IND: Mohammed Siraj reveals how he castled Litton Das

Despite a troublesome start, the Indian team finds itself in a comfortable position in the ongoing Test match against Bangladesh in Chattogram. Half-centuries from Cheteshwar Pujara, Shreyas Iyer, and Ravichandran Ashwin helped India to score 404 runs in their first innings and then the bowlers bowled impressive spells to stumble the hosts for just 150 runs in the second.

The in-form pacer Mohammed Siraj proved the best for the Indian team on Day 2 with three valuable wickets while wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav grabbed a sensational five-wicket haul wickets to steal the show. Siraj bowled out opener Najmul Shanto on the first delivery of the innings but his best came in the 14th over when he took Litton Das' crucial wicket with an impressive delivery.

Litton looked confident from the beginning with five fours and was batting on 24 runs off 30 balls when Siraj dismissed him. Both players had exchanged words on the previous delivery, to which the Indian bowler termed as friendly banter. "This isn't the T20 format, this is Test cricket, play sensible cricket," Siraj revealed what he told Das.

Siraj delivered a wobble seam delivery and that led to the ball keeping low. With the line being stump to stump, the ball took lower edge of Litton Das' bat before thudding into the stumps. Siraj revealed that he used wobble seam to dismiss Litton and said that he learned to wobble seam in 2018 after he lost the ability to find inward seam for the right-handed batter.

"In 2018 the incoming deliveries had completely stopped. At that time my outswing was working better. So I was a bit confused as to why my in-swingers weren't working. Then I decided to use the wobble seam because incoming deliveries are always a problem for batsmen. Because outswing is visible more clearly for the batsmen but when it comes in then it becomes difficult for the batsmen. So I used the wobble seam because it is quite effective like an off-cutter, I trust it more because I get success from it," Siraj added.

Siraj also played out the importance of bowling consistently in a stump line as the fast bowlers have high chances to get a turn on a ball.

"My approach was to bowl consistent stuff. This the kind of wicket, where if you try too much then you leak runs. So the plan was to bowl consistently at one area at stumps. I will get success. If you bowl the stump line, it would be better, because from there the ball is staying low, there is a turn also. For fast bowlers also, stump line, there are chances of getting LBW," Siraj conluded.
