Bangladesh and New Zealand are all set to lock horns in a three-match ODI series starting from Thursday, September 21 at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka. Both sides are coming into the three-game affair on a losing note as Bangladesh got knocked out of the Asia Cup 2023 in the Super fours stage while New Zealand lost the four-match ODI series vs England by 1-3.
New Zealand have had an upper hand over Bangladesh in their ODI history as they’ve won 28 out of the 38 matches played between the two teams. However, having beaten the Kiwis twice in a bilateral ODI series, the visitors will be vary of the threat that the Bangla Tigers pose.
Both teams have rested most of the main players to give them the much-needed rest ahead of the ODI World Cup 2023. However, despite that, there are enough stars on both sides to make the fans from both nations wait in anticipation for the series to get underway.
Bangladesh will be led by Litton Das while Lockie Ferguson has been handed over the captaincy duties for the Kiwis in the absence of several senior players. New Zealand have notable names such as Trent Boult, Lockie Ferguson, Kyle Jamieson and Ish Sodhi in their squad. On the other hand, Bangladesh have been bolstered by the return of the veterans Mahmudullah and Tamim Iqbal.
