BCB and PCB in talks for series in Bangladesh in July-August
"This is under discussion and both the boards are positive about it," Shahriar Nafees said.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) are in discussions to arrange a bilateral white-ball series in Bangladesh during the July-August window. The proposed series, which is outside of the ICC Future Tours Programme (FTP), is likely to feature three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).
Bangladesh and Pakistan are currently participating in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, with Bangladesh playing their final group-stage game against Pakistan in Rawalpindi on February 27. Following the conclusion of the tournament, the Bengal Tiger's next away schedule is a tour to Pakistan in May, where they will play three ODIs and three T20Is as per the ICC FTP calendar.
However, the two boards are looking for a possibility of adding another bilateral series in Bangladesh during the brief window in July-August. This would take place between Bangladesh’s home series against Sri Lanka in June-July and their scheduled series against India in August.

The discussions between the PCB and BCB reportedly took place during the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy in Dubai, where PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi and BCB President Faruque Ahmed met to explore the feasibility of the series. Shahriar Nafees, the charge of BCB's cricket operations, confirmed that both boards are showing positive intent regarding the proposal.
"This is under discussion and both the boards are positive about it. When it's finalised it will be announced. It would likely happen between the Sri Lanka and India home series," in-charge of BCB's cricket operations Shahriar Nafees said as quoted by The Daily Star.
Managing this series will be tough as both teams have packed schedules ahead. PCB will have to make scheduling adjustments to accommodate the series, as Pakistan is already set to tour the West Indies and host Afghanistan during the July-August period. If finalized, the Pakistan series will add to an already busy calendar for Bangladesh in 2025.
Post-Champions Trophy, Bangladesh is scheduled to play two Test matches against Zimbabwe in April, followed by a home series against Sri Lanka featuring two Tests, three ODIs, and three T20Is in June-July. After the proposed Pakistan series, Bangladesh will host India for three ODIs and three T20Is in August. The remainder of the year includes Asia Cup participation in September, a home series against West Indies in October, and a full series against Ireland to conclude the year.
