The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has instructed the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League's technical committee to go through a controversial stumping that happened during a match between Gulshan Cricket Club and Shinepukur Cricket Club at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on Wednesday, April 9.
During the last few overs of the match, Shinepukur batter Minhajul Abedin was stumped by wicketkeeper Alif Hasan off Naeen Islam's delivery. The batter had enough time to turn back and get into the crease, but he didn't do it. Instead, he stood outside the crease, watching the keeper dismantle the stumps.
Interestingly, the wicketkeeper failed to hit the stumps on the first attempt but gathered the ball immediately and stumped the batter on the second attempt. The controversial stumping has led to match-fixing allegations in the tournament, and BCB's anti-corruption unit has initiated an investigation.
"The BCB Anti-Corruption Unit and the League's Technical Committee have promptly initiated an investigation into the alleged irregularities associated with the match. The BCB remains committed to ensuring fairness and discipline in all cricketing activities under its jurisdiction and will take the necessary actions based on the findings of the investigation," read a statement by BCB.

Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis (CCDM's) league coordinator Sabbir Ahmed said that it was the match referee's responsibility, and they were waiting for the umpire's report before going forward with the investigation. DPL is heading towards the last round of the competition, so the results will make the tournament intriguing.
"We saw the footage. It was the last dismissal of the day. This sort of thing is usually the match referee's responsibility. We are aware of the TV umpire sitting next to him also, so they must have studied the footage. They are supposed to give a report on the incident," said Sabbir Ahmed.
