Amidst the allegations of match-fixing and spot-fixing in the Bangladesh Premier League, it was reported that as far as 10 cricketers are under the scanner. While six of them have represented the Bangladesh team, two are uncapped and the other two are foreign players. Subsequently, the Anti Corruption Unit (ACU) is investigating the matter. 

According to Cricbuzz, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced that it will form an independent inquiry body to support ACU. BCB's ACU has zeroed down eight matches in the ongoing BPL 2025 which are under suspicion of spot-fixing and match-fixing. Notably, four franchises are being closely monitored by the unit after the matter has come to light.

According to media reports, suspected matches include the following:

Fortune Barishal vs Rajshahi (January 6)
Rangpur Riders vs Dhaka (January 7)
Dhaka vs Sylhet (January 10)
Rajshahi vs Dhaka (January 12)
Chittagong vs Sylhet (January 13)
Barishal vs Khulna Tigers (January 22)

Strictly adhere to the ICC Anti-Corruption Code: BCB

As the allegations of corruption escalated, BCB President, Faruque Ahmed said that anyone found guilty will be subjected to ‘strict action’. The matter has become even worse as previously International Cricket Council (ICC) has banned USA’s National Cricket League for violating sanction rules.

"The BCB has also come across media coverage regarding potential anti-corruption concerns about the BPL. The Board reiterates its firm commitment to upholding the integrity and spirit of the game. The BCB strictly adheres to the ICC Anti-Corruption Code for Participants and maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption in any form," the BCB stated in a press release. 

"The BCB Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) is continuously monitoring all matters relating to integrity within Bangladesh cricket, addressing them with due confidentiality and discretion. As part of its ongoing efforts, the BCB is in the process of establishing an independent inquiry body to further support the ACU in its investigations," it added.
