The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that no changes can be made to the schedule of the upcoming ODI World Cup despite concerns raised by the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) about hosting consecutive matches due to security issues.

The HCA communicated to the BCCI regarding the security arrangements for two back-to-back matches scheduled for October 9 and 10 after the local police expressed concerns about managing security for the matches involving New Zealand-Netherlands and Pakistan-Sri Lanka.

However, the BCCI has informed HCA that rescheduling the fixtures at this stage is not possible. Durga Prasad, a member of the team appointed by Supreme Court administrator L Nageswara Rao, acknowledged the discussions with the BCCI.

"We have engaged in discussions with the BCCI, and they have indicated that changing the schedule is not feasible at this point. Therefore, we have concurred to collaborate," he was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.

It is learnt that HCA officials spoke to BCCI's acting CEO Hemang Amin regarding the arrangements for the concerned games on August 21. Addressing the recent developments, the Hyderabad Police has provided assurance regarding the security arrangements for both the matches.

"We comprehend that BCCI's vice-president, Mr Rajeev Shukla, has already issued a statement. We have been informed that making a last-minute alteration is challenging, and we are striving to make arrangements for the orderly execution of the matches. We have conferred with the city's police commissioner, and he has reassured us of full assistance," added the HCA official.

As the exciting event approaches, the focus shifts to the teams' preparations. The World Cup matches will kick off on October 5 in Ahmedabad, with the tickets set to go on sale from August 25.
