The ODI Cricket World Cup 2023 is days away from its commencement, and participating teams have already arrived in the host nation, as the tournament is about to get underway soon. Meanwhile, the International Cricket Council (ICC), the apex cricket governing authority, has revealed the amount of money that the economies of participating nations will receive during the tenure of the mega event.

It has come to notice that the Australian and New Zealand economies will aggregate a total of Rs 2,887 crores (approximately) between them, while the United Kingdom will see an addition of Rs 3,727 crores in revenues to its economy with the ODI World Cup 2023. However, India – the host nation for the four-year leap-like event, will churn the most juice out of all the participating nations.

As per The Economic Times, the Indian economy will receive a whopping sum of Rs 13,318 crores as a forming part of its fiscal revenues owing to the cricketing extravaganza. The aforementioned nations will see the highest amount of boost to their respective economies, and thus, commercialization of the game has surely reached further heights.

ICC reveals prize money for winners, runners-up, semi-finalists, others 

Recently, ICC also announced the prize money for different participating nations for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023. The aggregate prize pool amounts to a grand total of $10,000,000. Understandably, the winner will receive the highest share, which equals to US $4,000,000. The runners-up and two other semi-finalists will receive US $2,000,000 and US $1,600,000 each, respectively.

Speaking further of the marquee tournament, the first game will be hosted at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 5, wherein, the finalists from the 2019 edition, England and New Zealand will square off in the curtain raiser. The same venue will then host a game between the arch-rivals India and Pakistan on October 14. Teams have already arrived in India and will be eager to put up a show across the span of 45 days.
