The apex Indian cricket governing body, BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India), has come forward and stated that they will review the new domestic structure that is being implemented in the upcoming season.

The structure involves a break between Ranji Trophy League and knockout games; longer gaps between matches in the second phase were some of the recommendations made by NCA Head of Cricket VVS Laxman, Team India's outgoing head coach Rahul Dravid, and chairman of the Senior Selection Committee Ajit Agarkar.

The review will take place on the basis of feedback from the various state boards. It is worth noting that the domestic season begins with the Duleep Trophy in Anantapur on September 5 and will end on September 22. That tournament will be followed by the Irani Trophy on October 1. The Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy will run from November 23 to December 15, and the Vijay Hazare 50-over Trophy is scheduled to run from December 21 to January 18.

I am glad that we organized a meeting with the state associations: Jay Shah

Speaking of the development with the BCCI, the secretary of the board, Jay Shah, came forward to express how delighted he was that the apex board had arranged meetings with the state associations. Moreover, he seemed pleased with way the state units provided their inputs on a constructive note.

"I am glad that we organized a meeting with the state associations. It is always good to exchange views on Indian cricket with our key stakeholders - the member state associations. It was a constructive dialogue on issues that concern Indian cricket, and I am pleased with the contributions from the state associations," Jay Shah was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.

"The new NCA in Bengaluru and the multiple indoor academies in the north-eastern states of the country are extremely close to our hearts. We are extremely proud of the progress we have seen so far, and today we shared the same with our member associations," he added.
