Young Ben Curran, who is the sibling of renowned England cricketers, Sam Curran and Tom Curran has been named in Zimbabwe squad. Notably, the Chevrons will be hosting the rising Asian side, Afghanistan, in the upcoming limited overs and Test series.

It is worth noting that, the father of the Curran brothers, Kevin Curran, played 11 ODIs for Zimbabwe between the years  1983 and 1987. Furthermore, he also became the Head Coach of the national side between the years 2005 and 2007, respectively. Speaking of Ben Curran, he has played for Northamptonshire from 2018 and 2022.

Currently, the 28-year-old is the leading run-scorer in Zimbabwe's 50-over competition with an average of 64.50 this season. In his red-ball appearances, he averages 74.14. Courtesy of his spectacular domestic season, Ben has earned a maiden call-up to the Zimbabwe national team.

For the unversed, the three-match ODI series against Afghanistan will commence from December 17. Subsequently, the T20Is will be held between December 11 and 14. A two-match Test series will begin with the first Test on December 26, and the squad for the same is yet to be named.
