India completed an easy victory over the Netherlands in their second Super 12 encounter of the T20 World Cup 2022. Batters Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Suryakumar Yadav put up fifties with the bat and helped India to post 179 runs on the board in their allotted 20 overs.
Defending 180 at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), the Indian bowlers dominated the Dutch side as they took one wicket after another and stopped the Netherlands innings to 123 runs. Seamers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Arshdeep Singh continued their good form with the ball as they scalped two wickets each.
Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer and expert Wasim Jaffer has lauded Indian pacers and said that they should continue their good form with the ball ahead in the competition as well.
This is what we want to see from the Indian bowlers: Jaffer
"Both Arshdeep Singh and Bhuvneshwar Kumar would have come to this competition with a lot of confidence. The way they bowled against Pakistan. They did not give the batters any room to play with and it is very important, especially on Australian pitches. Bhuvi (Bhuvneshwar) was simply exceptional, the way he bowled two maidens and took one wicket," said Jaffer at BatBricks7 presents 'Run ki Runneeti' only on CricTracker.
"This is what we want to see, the Indian bowlers continue to their form. They start very well with the ball, but the death bowling has also improved as we saw against Pakistan," he added.
The Men in Blue have started very well in the T20 World Cup. The former T20 champions have already defeated Pakistan and the Netherlands. Indian bowling looks strong in the competition with all three pacers including Bhuvneshwar, Arshdeep, and Mohammed Shami bowling pretty well.
Team India under the leadership of skipper Rohit Sharma will want to continue their good form ahead as well and clinch the trophy after reaching the final match of the competition.
