Revered as one of the greatest batters to ever play cricket, Sachin Tendulkar had it all. With 34,357 runs across formats, Tendulkar made an impact in the Indian team from the very first day that he played and recently, the Master Blaster reflected on the final days of his career.

Tendulkar played the final international game of his career in November 2013. The soon-to-be 50-year-old retired from all forms of cricket after playing his 200th Test against the West Indies at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Recalling the same at an event in Mumbai, Tendulkar talked about the support that his mother showed on him in his final match.

Adding that his mother never attended any of his matches, she came to support him one last time despite the physical challenges.

"I had played for so many years, but my mother had not seen any of the matches before that (last Test) match. I told my mother you have to come. Due to her physical challenges, it was difficult for her to come, but she said that she would come for me, and she was there in the wheelchair. It was a big emotional moment when they showed my mother on the big screen," Tendulkar was quoted as saying by Mint.

Wanted me to be a good person in life: Tendulkar

Recently, Sachin celebrated the 25th anniversary of his iconic ‘desert storm’ knock in Sharjah. He celebrated the occasion by cutting a cake and interacting with fans in Mumbai. Furthermore, he also had many conversations with fans where he touched upon a variety of topics.

Sharing a lesson with his fans, Tendulkar shared something that his father used to tell him, saying, "I still remember, I just played for India and I was travelling with my father. My father told me that you have achieved your dream. What's after that....he told me that he wanted me to be a good person in life because that would be something that would last."
