Pakistan Women's cricketer Bismah Maroof has stepped down from her position as captain of the national team. Her decision to resign as skipper comes right after the conclusion of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2023, in South Africa.
The Pakistan Women had a dissapointing outing in the World Cup, losing three of their four group stage matches and getting eliminated yet again in an ICC event. Bismah Maroof had been captaining Pakistan for a long time in international cricket. She has captained her side in 62 T20Is and 34 ODIs.
'Accepted her resignation': PCB Chief Najam Sethi
I have accepted resignation of @maroof_bismah Captain of Pakistan Women’s National Team. She wants to make way for a younger colleague. But happily she will continue to play for Pakistan and bring laurels for her country.
