Australia captain Pat Cummins has already confirmed that the all-rounders will play a much bigger role in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The likes of Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Cummins will be used wisely as playing all five Test matches will be tiring for the pacers. Keeping that in mind, Cameron Green and Mitchell Marsh are likely to bowl longer spells and play a much more active role in the matches.
Talking about the same, Green confirmed that he is ready to share the workload. He also shared a fitness update stating that his body is in a really good place and that he will be able to bowl longer spells against India in the five-match series, slated to begin on November 22. He also shared how he jokes with Marsh on how difficult it is to bowl between 70th to 80th over when the ball does nothing.
“I have thought about it as an 'in 10 years' time sort of thing. But definitely, at the moment, I am very happy to contribute as much as I can. Physically I am in a really good place to be able to do that. We always laugh and joke between me and Mitch about who bowls those graveyard overs between the 70th and the 80th overs when the ball is not doing anything. We'll wait and see how we do it this summer,” Green told cricket.com.au.

“But now my body's in a really good place where I feel like I can contribute with bowling. Down the track, it is an option but at the moment I am very happy to be a genuine allrounder," Green concluded his point,” he added.
Notably, Green is eager to play red-ball cricket for Western Australia before playing the marquee series against India. However, he doesn’t want to jeopardize his spot in the white-ball squad as well, keeping the Champions Trophy in mind.
“I love playing for WA, playing Shield cricket is awesome, I think it is the best preparation you can have for a Test tour. But at the same time, you always want to play for Australia, especially when there always seems to be a World Cup or a Champions Trophy just around the corner.

“If you decide to not do a white-ball series, is it going to hurt your chances for the Champions Trophy, for example? There is always these things you have got to weigh up. So it is still up in the air,” he concluded.
