A notice has been sent to the Indian cricketer, Prithvi Shaw, by The Bombay High Court on the petition filed by influencer Sapna Gill regarding the selfie controversy case. Shaw had filed a complaint against Gill at Mumbai’s Oshiwara Police Station for allegedly assaulting him at a nightclub in Mumbai in February 2023. The brawl took place after Shaw had allegedly denied taking selfies with Sapna and her friends at Barrel Mansion Club in Vile Parle East.

After the incident, Gill moved to the Bombay High Court to revoke the FIR lodged against her, which was due to be heard on Thursday, April 13. Following her petition, a notice has been issued against 11 people, including Shaw. In her complaint, Gill has accused Shaw and his friend of molesting her in a public place, outraging her modesty and physically assaulting her with a deadly weapon. In a shocking revelation, she even said that the cricketer touched her in an inappropriate manner and pushed her away.

Apart from the cricketer, some police officers as well as some friends of Prithvi Shaw have been also sent a notice by the court. The video of the brawl between Shaw and the Bhojpuri actress was viral all over the internet where the duo could be seen struggling with each other. Following the incident, Shaw had filed a complaint alleging harassment which led to Gill being arrested but she was later issued bail on February 20. The social media influencer then moved to court seeking to revoke the FIR registered against her, regarding the incident.

According to reports, Gill and her friend Shobhit Thakur got into a tussle with Shaw and his friend Ashish Yadav after the cricketer allegedly refused a request for a selfie. Irked by Shaw’s denial, Gill and her friends reportedly attacked Shaw’s car and one of her friends even smashed the rear windshield with a baseball bat as claimed in the complaint filed by the Mumbai-born cricketer.

Prithvi Shaw's dry run with the bat in the IPL 2023 continues

Meanwhile, the 23-year-old has been having a tough time in the ongoing 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League as he’s failed to fire with the bat so far. Playing for Delhi Capitals, Shaw has only scored 34 runs from four innings at an average of 8.50. The opening batter Shaw has scores of 12, 7, 0 and 15 to his name in the season so far as Delhi have got off to a horrible start in their campaign losing all four matches that they’ve played in the tournament till now.
