Former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh has trolled the Australian team currently on a tour to India for the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023, the wily off-spinner also made a bold prediction that Team India will clean sweep the Kangaroos by winning the remaining two Tests as well.

India defeated Australia by six wickets in the second Test to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the four-match Test series, thus retaining the prestigious Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023. They have also inched closer to sealing their berth in the coveted World Test Championship final scheduled for June 7 at The Oval, London.

India will win 4-0: Harbhajan Singh makes a bold claim

“I do not doubt that India will win 4-0. Even if it was a 10-match series, India would beat Australia 10-0 because this Australian team doesn’t have any firepower. If there is something in the pitch, they throw their wickets from the dressing room itself," the 42-year-old said while speaking to Sports Tak.

Moreover, the former spinner stated that the current Australian side are a shadow of their past, compared to their World ranking in Tests. Singh said that he couldn't believe this Australian side was unwilling to show intent to play quality cricket, let alone challenge India. In his opinion, the biggest disappointment during the current series has been Australian side's batting performance. In both the Tests, it is their dismal batting that has let the Aussies down.

He took a dig at Australia for not coming well prepared in all aspects to play a Test series in India. Rather, according to Singh, the Australians seemed more focussed on looking at outwardly things and creating unneccessary noise about factors which have very little to do with cricket. He was also critical of the Aussies for only thinking about Ravichandran Ashwin.

"Australia practiced against Ravichandran Ashwin's duplicate, but I feel the Australian team itself is a duplicate one. Their mindset is such that they are focusing only on negative things. They created so much confusion that they lost the game even before the first ball was bowled. It doesn't seem like they have done any serious preparation for this tour. Looking at their performance, I think the only thing they practiced was about getting out."

Meanwhile, the third Test between the two sides commences from March 1, 2023 in Indore.
