After day 1 of first Border-Gavaskar Test, Australian star Mitchell Starc praised India stand-in skipper Jasprit Bumrah. He said that Bumrah has been a "fantastic" bowler across all formats of the game. At the end of day 1 of Perth Test, India got all out for just 150 runs and Australia stand at 67 for 7 wickets down.

Leading the bowling attack, Bumrah picked up four wickets and giving just 17 runs in his ten overs with an economy rate of 1.70. After stumps on day 1 at the press conference, Starc lauded Bumrah for his skills and said his skills are a show to watch.

"So, there's no surprise that he's been a fantastic bowler across the formats for a long time. And again, his skills were on show today as to how, how good he is. So, yeah, I'm sure there's something in that release point. That's significant to his action. It's something a lot of people can't do, so I'm not, I'm certainly not going to go and try it. I'll probably snap," Starc said at the post-day press conference.

After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, India lost early wickets. However knocks of Nitish Kumar Reddy, KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant helped India to put up 150 on board in the first innings of day 1 of the first Border Gavaskar Trophy.

Josh Hazlewood stood out for Australia as he took four wickets in his 13 overs. Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins and Mitchell Marsh took 2 wickets each which restricted India to just 150 runs in the first innings. Hazlewood took major wickets of Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal giving Australians a morale boost.

The World-Cup winning captain Pat Cummins is in all mood to clinch the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Test series against India. Both the teams' bowlers put up a great show on the first day of first Test of BGT in Perth.
