The Australian cricketer Cameron Green revealed that he is fully fit to bat and bowl in the upcoming Indian Premier League 2023 season. The star all-rounder became the second-most expensive buy in IPL auction history when Mumbai Indians spent INR 17.5 crore for his signature on December 23.

The 23-year-old suffered a finger injury during the second Test against South Africa at Melbourne Cricket Ground and was ruled out of the third Test match. Few reports suggested that the player will not be able to bowl before April 13. But when asked about his availability for IPL 2023, Green dismissed all speculations, stating he is 100 percent available for both skill sets in the IPL.

“No, that’s [reports] not correct. I’ve heard about this for a quite a while now I think. I don’t know where it’s come from. I’ve heard that I’m 100 percent available for both skill sets in the IPL at the start, so yeah, I’m not too sure where that’s kind of come from," Cameron Green told SEN Sportsday WA.

Green admitted that the INR 17.5 crore price tag raises a lot of expectations and he wants to repay it with his performances. “Yeah obviously it [auction] turned out really well but I think at the same time you want to go out there and perform and kind of re-pay the faith they showed you," Green said.

However, the Australian was not sure about his availability for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in India, starting February 9. Green took five wickets in the first innings of the second Test against South Africa and then despite hurting his finger, he smashed a fifty in the second innings.

“Obviously my first priority is the Test Series that’s beforehand. I think me and Starcy (Mitchell Starc) are maybe touch and go for that first one but obviously we’ll give ourselves the best chance," Green added.
