The world is gearing up for the IPL 2025 (Indian Premier League) mega auction. The marquee event will be held in Jeddah on November 24 and 25, respectively. The 10 franchises will hope to get the best players in their squads ahead of the new season of the IPL.

One of the sides that would have the most eyes set upon would be Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The franchise has been a fan favourite since the inception of the tournament, and many will pin their hopes on the side once more ahead of the IPL 2025. Recently, Malolan Rangarajan, who is the head of scouting at RCB and RCB-W assistant coach, took centre stage and talked about the importance of scouting new talent for the franchise. He talked about the process of picking new players and how the side’s camps work.

"Our camps are about more than just player evaluation—they're about building potential. By analysing current players and inviting promising talent from across the country, we form a solid team structure and boost every player’s game. This strategic approach ensures that every talent scouted has the best opportunity to grow and develop within the system," Rangarajan was quoted as saying as per the statement released by the franchise.

RCB camps go beyond evaluation and training: Rangarajan

It is worth noting that the scouting network of RCB has worked wonders in the past. The likes of Rajat Patidar, Asha Shobana, and Vyshak Vijaykumar are prime examples of scouted players. Rangarajan also talked about how the RCB camp often goes beyond the confines of training.

"Ultimately, RCB camps go beyond evaluation and training. It isn’t something that happens only once a year; we try to do it as many times as possible. This dedication to building talent and character ensures that RCB’s influence extends far beyond, creating champions in every sense of the word—not just for the IPL, but contributing significantly to India’s illustrious talent pool. The team will conduct two camps ahead of the WPL Auction, set to be held in December," Rangarajan concluded.
