The 50-over cricket fest Champions Trophy 2025 is going to begin on Wednesday, February 19, with hosts Pakistan taking on New Zealand at the National Stadium in Karachi. This is going to be the ninth edition of the Champions Trophy. Pakistan are the defending champions, having won the previous edition back in 2017.
Pakistan, New Zealand, India, and Bangladesh are placed in Group A. On the other hand, England, Australia, Afghanistan, and South Africa are pitted in Group B. The top two teams will progress from each group and battle it out in the semifinals.
The high-voltage clash between India and Pakistan is set to be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on February 23. The Men in Blue are going to play all their matches in Dubai after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) informed the ICC that they won't travel to Pakistan due to safety concerns.
Champions Trophy 2025 venues
Three venues in Pakistan and one in the UAE will host matches in the Champions Trophy. National Stadium in Karachi, Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, and the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi are the three centers which will host matches in Pakistan. Meanwhile, Dubai International Cricket Stadium will host all games involving India.
Champions Trophy 2025 Format
Each team will play three matches in the group stage, once against each team in their group. The top two teams from each group will progress to the semifinals, which will be played on March 4 and 5.
