Bowling all-rounder Corbin Bosch has been added to South Africa's 15-member squad for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025 squad as a replacement for the injured, Anrich Nortje.

Bosch, 30, made his ODI debut against Pakistan in December, and registered figures of 1/69 in nine overs. However, he played an important role with the ball for MI Cape Town in the recently concluded SA20 2025 and helped the Rashid Khan-led side win the title. Talented fast bowler Kwena Maphaka has also been added to the squad as a travelling reserve.

South Africa have been struggling with injuries to their seamers. Gerald Coetzee was ruled out with a groin issue, while Beuran Hendricks and Lizaad Williams have been recovering from injuries too. Corbin Bosch and Maphaka, along with opener Tony de Zorzi, depart for Karachi on Sunday, February 9, to join the squad for the remainder of the tri-nation ODI series against Pakistan and New Zealand.

South Africa will start their Champions Trophy campaign on February 21

Meanwhile, former Pakistan all-rounder Yasir Arafat has been signed as a consultant for the South African men's team for both the tri-nation series and the coveted ICC mage cricket event. South Africa are placed in Group B in the Champions Trophy alongside Australia, England, and Afghanistan. The Proteas begin their campaign against debutants Afghanistan, on February 21, in Karachi.

Temba Bavuma and Co. will then travel to Rawalpindi to face Australia on February 25. South Africa's group-stage campaign will end with a clash against England in Karachi on March 1. Notably, South Africa agonizingly lost the finals of the T20 World Cup last year. In 2023, they were ousted by Australia in the semi-finals of the ODI World Cup. The Proteas would want to put the setbacks behind them and go the distance in the Champions Trophy.
