Five-time Indian Premier League champions Chennai Super Kings and its holding arm India Cements have been identified as the major donors of AIADMK (All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) through electoral bonds, as revealed by the Election Commissioner of India on Sunday, March 17. Notably, the Tamil Nadu-based political party received INR 5 crore from CSK through electoral bonds. In total, the MK Stalin-led party received INR 6.05 crore and all these funds through electoral bonds were received between April 2, and April 4, 2019.
As per The Times of India, CSK donated electoral bonds worth INR 1 crore each on three occasions, while they also donated 29 bonds of INR 10 lakhs each. Meanwhile, the donations won’t affect their plans for the upcoming IPL 2024, for which, the team has already started practising at M Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Skipper MS Dhoni looked to be in great form in the nets, as multiple videos of him hitting massive sixes already went viral on social media. The 42-year-old underwent knee surgery right after winning the 2023 edition, and there was confusion if the veteran cricketer would make his return to the cash-rich tournament. However, Dhoni worked really well during the rehab and is likely to play all the matches in the upcoming tournament.
