Haryana opener Yashvardhan Dalal etched his name into the record books in the CK Nayudu Trophy 2024-25 as he became the first batter to score a quadruple century in the tournament's rich history. He achieved the feat on Day 2 of the ongoing clash between Haryana and Mumbai at the Gurugram Cricket Ground (SRNCC), Sultanpur on Saturday, November 9.

After Mumbai won the toss and invited Haryana to bat first, it has been one-way traffic as the bowlers have been put to the sword by Dalal and Co. The opening partnership between Dalal and Arsh Ranga set up the foundation beautifully for Haryana as they added 410 runs in 98 overs. After Ranga was dismissed for 151, his fellow opener went from strength to strength and notched up a quadruple ton on Saturday.

Other Haryana batters got starts but couldn't convert them into substantial scores. However, Dalal held the fort from one end and helped his team get to a whopping 732/8 at Stumps on Day 2. Haryana scored their runs at an impressive run-rate of 4.16. The right-handed batter finished the day with an unbeaten score of 426 off just 463 balls. He belted 46 fours and 12 sixes during his epic knock.

Yashvardhan Dalal breaks Sameer Rizvi's record for highest individual score in CK Nayudu Trophy

In February, Sameer Rizvi created history as he became the first batter to score a triple century in the CK Nayudu Trophy. Playing for Uttar Pradesh, the former Chennai Super Kings batter slammed 312 off just 266 balls against Saurashtra.

Rizvi's record has lasted just nine months as Dalal surpassed him on Saturday. Atharva Bhosale was the only Mumbai bowler who caused some sort of problems for Dalal and kept things tight against the flamboyant batter. The former was rewarded for his consistency as he picked up a five-for, bowling 58 overs across the first two days of the clash.
