Legendary India batter Sachin Tendulkar reminded fans of his famous dismissal from the ODI World Cup 2003 final against Glenn McGrath as he got dismissed by stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui on Wednesday, March 6 at The Dadoji Kondadev Stadium in Thane, Mumbai. Opening the innings for Masters XI during the curtain raiser of Indian Street Premier League 2024, Tendulkar brought back memories of his playing days with some marvellous shots all around the ground.
Courtesy of his sumptuous shots, Tendulkar raced to 30 off just 16 balls. However, his innings was brought to an abrupt end as he got dismissed by stand-up comedian and Big Boss winner Munawar Faruqui. The right-arm seamer bowled a fullish deliver on off stump which Tendulkar tried to play on the on side.

Notably, during the 2003 World Cup final, Tendulkar was dismissed in a similar manner against Australia seamer Glenn McGrath. The right-handed batter was dismissed in the first over itself scoring just 4 (6) as he tried to pull a good length delivery and ended up top-edging it to the Australian bowler.
Tendulkar opened alongside Amir Hussain
Earlier, Tendulkar opened the innings alongside para cricketer Amir Hussain Lone whom he recently met during his trip to Jammu and Kashmir. The legendary cricketer was moved by Hussain’s passion towards the game despite being differently abled as he found a way to play cricket through his limited abilities.
