India defeated Bangladesh by 10 wickets in the first semi-final to confirm their place in the final of the ongoing Women’s Asia Cup 2024. The bowlers once again had a terrific outing as eight Bangladesh cricketers scored in single digits. Captain Nigar Sultana was the only one to fight back but her 32 runs off 51 deliveries weren’t good enough as Bangladesh posted just 83 runs in the first innings.
Pacer Renuka Singh destroyed Bangladesh’s top order as the 28-year-old picked up the wickets of Dilara Akter, Murshida Khatun and Ishma Tanjim. Bangladesh were reduced to 21/3 and needed something special to make a comeback but that didn’t happen. Spinner Radha Yadav dominated the middle overs as she picked up three wickets to dismantle Bangladesh’s batting unit.
After the victory, captain Harmanpreet Kaur lauded the bowlers for their commendable performance. She added that the team is under a lot of pressure because of so much expectation but is happy with how the team has performed so far. She mentioned that the goal is to keep things simple and advised the players to go out there and express themselves.

We prepare ourselves hard in the nets,” Harmanpreet said in the post-match presentation.
