'Cricket is the most important thing for me' - Sai Kishore on having love and passion for cricket
Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore made a remarkable contribution in the last game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) taking 2/24 in his full quota of four overs.
Left-arm spinner R Sai Kishore has been one of the top-performing players for the Gujarat Titans in the ongoing IPL 2025 so far. The 28-year-old had a brilliant outing against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, where he picked up a couple of wickets, at an exceptional economy of 6.00 runs an over, eventually ending with 4-0-24-2 in his spell.
The orthodox spinner first scalped the youngster Nitish Kumar Reddy followed by the dangerous wicketkeeper-batter Heinrich Klaasen. His bowling made sure that the fierce SRH attack did not score runs freely, making it truly an extraordinary spell, after Player of the Match Mohammed Siraj kept things miserly at his end as well. After the game, the 28-year-old even opened up on his love and passion for the game and how it has affected his life.
“Contribute what is coming out of the hand spin. There you go! We've popped it up, and it's time to leave the crease. I think cricket teaches you a lot of things, to get a chance, to make a name for myself it has actually shaped me as a person, it has shaped me as a cricketer so still the same fire is there, cricket is the most important thing for me in this life it is what I dedicated my life for,” Kishore told in a video by IPL.
“It feels good to have all those 4 AMs and four sessions a day practising alone when nobody is watching, all those things paying off Yes, this is just the beginning, we should win a lot more games for GT and a trophy as well this year As a team, I think GT, we are playing a wonderful brand of cricket, I think we are playing as a team we are playing, gelling together, we are having fun together We are genuinely enjoying each other's success, that's amazing, that's a great space to be a part of Yeah, lot more success to come," the Tamil Nadu cricketer added.
I'm always prepared for opportunities: Washington Sundar
The same video also featured Sai Kishore’s current GT and Tamil Nadu teammate, Washington Sundar, who also gave a great performance with the bat. The all-rounder expressed gratitude towards his team for giving him a lot of support during the season and also talked about his preparation going into the match while talking to Sai Kishore.
“Honestly amazing, Sai. And I truly believe in the preparation that I've put in the last, especially three, four weeks. I genuinely believe that whenever my opportunity comes, I'll be prepared. Thank you, Sai. Honestly, you guys were cheering for me in every other ball,” Sundar said.
