Amid political turmoil and mayhem, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is making all the efforts to seemingly keep the game of cricket alive in their backyard. As they are due to play South Africa as part of their World Test Championship (WTC 2023-25 cycle) schedule, in a new development, a three-member team of delegates sent by Cricket South Africa (CSA) arrived in Dhaka, on Friday, September 20.
The motive behind this was said to be a routine monitoring of the venues for the upcoming two-match Test series between both nations. Notably, the series is slated for around mid-October timeframe at the moment. Besides, the two Tests are expected to be played at Chattogram and Mirpur, respectively.
In the same vein, the BCB operations in-charge Shahriar Nafees said that there is nothing significant regarding the visit of the delegates as it was a standard process followed by all nations before any series takes place. It was also revealed that the delegates met the country's law enforcement, apart from visiting the venues to address their security concerns.
"It's a routine visit. This is nothing significant as all foreign teams maintain the same process," Nafees told DailyStar.
"The delegation members will visit the Chattogram venue [Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium] and talk with law enforcement agencies tomorrow before repeating the same process in Dhaka the following day," he added.

The opening game of the Test series will begin on October 21, at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, in Dhaka. The final and second Test is slated to take place on October 29, in Chattogram.
