In the match between Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the ongoing IPL 2023, Ruturaj Gaikwad picked up a stunning catch to give the home side their first breakthrough in the match. Batting first, Hyderabad started well, with Harry Brook leading the attack. The England international was looking dangerous, and that’s when Akash Singh picked his wicket to send him back to the pavilion.

Notably, the cricketer tried to cut it late, but it went straight to the CSK opener, who was fielding in between the backward point and short third man region. CSK were delighted with the first wicket, especially when the visiting team were scoring more than eight runs per over.

Meanwhile, after his dismissal, flamboyant batter Rahul Tripathi came to the crease. He had an underwhelming season so far, and against CSK, he once again failed to make it big. On the other hand, Abhishek Sharma was asked to open the innings against CSK, which confused the fans. However, the young cricketer started really well but failed to capitalise on it. He tried to go for a Hollywood shot against Ravindra Jadeja but eventually failed to time it as Ajinkya Rahane picked up an easy catch. Thus, he had to walk back to the pavilion after scoring 34 runs off 26 deliveries.

Meanwhile, post his dismissal, skipper Aiden Markram came to the crease, and that increased the speculation about Mayank Agarwal. So far, he has opened in all the matches, but SRH seem to change their strategy and use him as a finisher.

Gaikwad showed his class yet again on the field, this time at extra cover as he timed his lunge to perfection to send Heinrich Klaasen packing for just 17 off Matheesha Pathirana's bowling.

On the other hand, Chennai Super Kings will be aiming to restrict SRH to a low score and win their fourth game of the season. They are currently third on the IPL Points Table, and with a win, they can better their net run rate and move to the top two. On the other hand, the Aiden Markram-led side are ninth on the points table and desperately need a win to change their fortune.
