'They don't look settled'- Danish Kaneria belittles 'India threat' for Pakistan ahead of Asia Cup 2023
India and Pakistan will meet in the group A fixture during the Asia Cup 2023 on Saturday, September 02 in Pallekele
The entire cricketing fraternity is eagerly waiting to witness India and Pakistan locking horns on the pitch as the two teams are all set to face off for multiple matches over the next two months. The two nations don’t share cricketing ties anymore, hence, whenever they go against each other, the fans from both countries leave no stone unturned to support their teams.
Ahead of the upcoming fixture between the two Asian heavyweights in the Asia Cup 2023, former Pakistan spinner Danesh Kaneria feels Pakistan have the edge over India. The former wrist spinner reckons that India don’t look settled as they’re not sure which fast bowlers are going to make it to the XI.
"Pakistan have the edge, as India don't look settled at the moment. They don't know which fast bowlers are going to play. In their spin department, Yuzvendra Chahal has been inconsistent. Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, and Ravindra Jadeja should be the three spinners, according to me. If they want a spinner on standby, Ravi Bishnoi should get the nod," said Kaneria on his Youtube channel.
Notably, India and Pakistan will first meet in the group A fixture during the Asia Cup 2023 on Saturday, September 02 at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Pallekele. The two teams will next possibly face off in the Super 4 stage of the same tournament and then the final, provided they qualify for the same.
India and Pakistan to face off on October 14 in World Cup 2023
The arch-rivals will then meet in the ODI World Cup 2023 on October 14 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. They could further meet again in the semi-final or final of the mega event if both qualify for the same. Hence, fans from all over the world will get to witness the most celebrated rivalry in cricketing history in the next few months.
Both teams will be eager to get on top of each other especially India, who will be playing the World Cup at their home from October 05.
