Star batter Virat Kohli has finally marked his return to domestic cricket after over twelve long years, and the crowd at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi went bonkers to see their favourite cricketing star play the ongoing Ranji Trophy fixture.
Kohli, also popular as food connoisseur, had asked for a special demand during the Lunch break on Day 1 of the Round 7 Ranji tie between Delhi and Railways. The New Delhi-born had asked for Chilli Paneer as lunch, and requested the same to the operator at the DDCA-run canteen inside the ground. Sanjay Jha, the canteen manager, revealed the same in a recent interview.
“I have been running a canteen for 25 years and I have known Virat Kohli from his childhood. He used to eat from our canteen. He started his career from here, but he doesn’t have any arrogance. Even today, he stays humble while talking to us and the waiters just how a normal person does,” Sanjay Jha told Sports Today.
“Earlier, chilli chicken used to be his favourite. Not only did he use to eat it, but he also recommended it to his teammates. Now he has chole bhature or kadhi chawal. Once I asked him if we should order something from outside, but he refused, saying that he wanted to have food from our canteen itself,” he added.
