India women’s all-rounder Deepti Sharma has been one of the most influential parts of the Indian team for quite some time now. With her recent inclusion in the second women's ODI against Ireland, Deepti entered the 100 ODIs club in women’s cricket.
It is worth noting that with 99 WODI, Deepti has amassed 2143 runs at an average of 34.56 and with one century and 12 half-centuries. With the ball, she has 124 wickets at an average of 27.50 and an economy rate of 4.19. Having accomplished the milestone of 100 ODIs, Deepti recalled her journey and narrated what the landmark means for her.
“I was dreaming of this (playing for India). After I was selected to the team, I became nervous. I thought to myself that all the seniors are grown ups. I want to be among them at such a young age. I have been playing since my debut. I have learnt one thing, how cool and calm you should be. All my seniors have always said, 'You should be in your first or your last match, and I will give you 100 percent,’” Deepti Sharma said in a video shared by the BCCI.

I have always found a responsibility role: Deepti Sharma
Furthermore, the 27-year-old talked about how she has thought of her role in the team as a responsibility. She also talked about her ability to bat at any number within the team.
“I have always found a responsibility role. I am mentally ready to play any number of batting. When I played 188 in batting, it was my biggest achievement. When I was playing, I never thought that something like this would be recorded. Now, so many matches are being played in the domestic circuit. Different players are coming and playing for India,” Deepti Sharma said.
