Following an impressive performance in the Deodhar Trophy, Rohan Kunnummal, the attacking opener from Kerala, has bagged the opportunity to attend a trial with the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, Delhi Capitals. Hence it would be apt to say that Rohan's journey to the national spotlight has progressed significantly. Now, the youngster is determined to build on this momentum as he steps into the next phase of his career.
During his stint with the South Zone team, Rohan showcased his batting prowess by scoring 311 runs with a stellar average of 62.20. This commendable feat positioned him as the third-highest run-scorer in the tournament, trailing behind Riyan Parag (354) and Mayank Agarwal (341). Fascinatingly enough, Rohan maintained a striking strike rate of 123.90, securing the second-highest position among consistent batters, with Parag leading the chart at 136.67.
Rohan Kunnummal's stellar performance caught the attention of Delhi Capitals, who extended an invitation for him to join their training camp. The 25-year-old right-hand batter expressed his delight, highlighting the valuable interactions he had with cricketing greats like Sourav Ganguly and Praveen Amre.
"Delhi Capitals training camp has been very good. Here, I got a chance to interact with Sourav Ganguly sir and Praveen Amre sir. They have been very helpful and helped me with a few technical aspects at nets. Hopefully, this will reflect positively in the coming days in my career," Rohan was quoted as saying by News 18.

Rohan Kunnummal's journey to this point was paved by his outstanding performance in the Deodhar Trophy, particularly his century in the final against East Zone. Reflecting on his achievements, he emphasized the importance of consistency in every match.

Recalling their prior experience batting together in the Duleep Trophy, Rohan expressed gratitude for Mayank's insights, which helped him stay focused and composed during crucial moments.
