Dhruv Jurel certainly has all the credentials to get to where MS Dhoni reached in his career: Anil Kumble
Jurel made 90 and 39* runs in the fourth Test against England in Ranchi.
Dhruv Jurel’s call-up to the national team was a surprising one, as the youngster doesn’t have enough experience in red-ball cricket. However, the selection committee and the team management showed their faith in the 23-year-old and in return, Jurel played a vital role in helping India win the Ranchi Test against formidable England.
With the bat, the Agra-born cricketer made 90 runs in the first innings and 39* in the second. Former cricketer Anil Kumble was impressed with his technique as he expressed his confidence in the young stumper-batter and added that Jurel has all the credentials to get to where legendary wicketkeeper-batter and former India skipper MS Dhoni reached in his career.

“Dhruv Jurel certainly has all the credentials to get to where MS (Dhoni) reached in his career. He's not just shown the temperament of his technique to defend but even when he's attacking. Even in that first innings, he was very assured, he went after and then hit those big sixes,” Kumble was quoted as saying by The Times of India.
His glovework has been exceptional: Kumble
The former India captain also lauded Jurel’s exceptional glovework behind the stumps. Kumble mentioned that Jurel was exceptional against the pacers and expects him to improve further in the coming games. He believes that the more cricket Jurel plays, the better he will get as he is an excellent addition to the squad.
“He has (Jurel) been exceptional, especially against the faster bowlers… He is only going to improve. This is only his second Test and I am sure as he starts playing more and more he'll only get better. And it only augurs well for India. And to have him in a squad is exceptional,” Kumble added, foreseeing a promising future for the young talent,” Kumble added.
Courtesy of his brilliant performance in Ranchi, Jurel has sealed his spot in the Test squad. He replaced KS Bharat in the third Test, who was struggling with the bat. Meanwhile, the moment Jurel features in the fifth Test against England in Dharamshala, he will earn his first BCCI contract.
