The first Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 was dominated by the Indian team. After a shaky performance with the bat in the first innings, India followed it up with an exceptional display in the second innings. After Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul laid a strong foundation with mammoth knocks, ace batter Virat Kohli managed to complete his century as well.

It is worth noting that ahead of the series, there were many questions about Kohli’s form in recent times, but a ton in Perth seems to have kept the critics quiet. Talking about his performance and the criticism that he has faced in recent times, former India cricketer Ajay Jadeja took centre stage and backed Kohli to perform even better.

“Doubters can rest in peace... The name itself says it all. If there were doubters, they can rest in peace. Geniuses aren't born overnight,” Ajay Jadeja said.

Made up their mind to go back to Virat Kohli: Aakash Chopra

Speaking of Virat Kohli, the ace batter was retained by IPL (Indian Premier League) franchise Royal Challengers Bengaluru for a whopping INR 21 crore ahead of the new season of the tournament. Furthermore, Bengaluru roped in many players in the recently concluded IPL mega auction as well.

However, many have come forward and discussed the potential skipper for RCB in the IPL 2025. Recently, former India cricketer Aakash Chopra took centre stage and opined that RCB might have made up their mind about picking VIrat Kohli as their next skipper.

"When they have not taken anyone, they have probably made up their mind to go back to Virat Kohli, and he will once again become this team's captain. They also thought that they wouldn't pick anyone who was with them," Chopra said in a video on his YouTube channel.
