Mumbai Indians take on Gujarat Giants in WPL opener

Led by Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, Mumbai Indians will be going up against Gujarat Giants on March 4 at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in the season opener of the WPL. Beth Mooney will be leading Gujarat Giants as they look to snatch a victory against a star-studded MI line-up.

GG also boasts a line-up filled with superstars; Ashleigh Gardner, Sneh Rana, Beth Mooney, and Harleen Deol are some of the many players who would have a major impact in their side in their quest for a title victory. Apart from these two sides, Royal Challengers Bangalore also boast a fabulous line-up. With players like Smriti Mandhana, Ellyse Perry, and Sophie Devine, RCB are pushing a strong case for themselves ahead of the competition as well.

Delhi Capitals were one such side that were quite tactical with their spending at the WPL auctions, despite that they were able to build a strong line-up with the likes of Jemimah Rodrigues, Meg Lanning, Shafali Verma, and Radha Yadav. It would be no surprise if DC make it far into the inaugural WPL and even win it considering their explosive batting line-up and six-time T20 World Cup champion Lanning as the skipper.
