England have just released their 15-member squad for the Women's U-19 World Cup 2025, slated to be played in Malaysia. The 41-match event will see 16 teams from across the globe participate.

The standout player from the roster are left-arm orthodox, Tilly Corteen-Coleman, who impressed domestically and produced some standout performances for the Southern Brave Women in the most recent edition of The Women's Hundred. Batting all-rounder, Davina Perrin, who featured in the 2023 edition of the Women's U-19 World Cup, is also included.

Chris Guest, who was recently appointed as England Women Under-19s' Performance Lead will supervise as head coach and be assisted by Beth Morgan and Dan Helesfay. Morgan, a former England international, represented her country for more than a decade. She featured in seven Tests, 72 ODIs and 28 T20Is. The erstwhile all-rounder was a vital component of the side's double in 2009 - a year in which they emerged as the champions of the Women's World Cup followed by the Women's World Twenty20 (now called the Women's World Cup).

Helesfay works as an assistant coach at South East Stars and the Women's Hundred side, Welsh Fire. Besides, She has previously been a Senior Regional Talent Manager at Western Storm, one of eight regional hubs in English domestic cricket.

The programme is about developing these players in the future and the long-term: Guest

Chris Guest expressed what stirred him the most and the message he would want the drafted players to take some learnings from. He also provided four players' names who now feature for the senior women's side, implying just how crucial the U-19 World Cup is in the journey of the current crop of players.

"What excites me most about working with the Under-19 age group is the constant cycle of new talent and new groups coming through. This World Cup is a part of these players’ journey, not the end or the start and our message to them is to embrace the challenge, evolve ourselves, and enjoy the ride. Naturally, we want to do well but the programme is about developing these players in the future and the long-term," Guest was quoted as saying by ESPNCricinfo.

It was really exciting to see Ryana MacDonald-Gay, Hannah Baker, Seren Smale, and Charis Pavely feature for the senior team in Ireland after representing the U-19s in the first edition of this World Cup in 2023 and this acts as a real inspiration for this group and demonstrates how important this tournament can be for a player's development,” he further added.
