English T20I skipper, Jos Buttler, topped the run-scoring charts for batters against India in T20Is during the course of the second game of the five-match series against India at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. Buttler was the top-scorer for the visitors in both the games, racking up 68 (44) and 45 (30) in the first and second match, respectively.
During Buttler's innings in Chennai, the ace batter surpassed the 600-run mark against India in T20Is. His run-tally currently rests at 611 runs in 21 innings, averaging 35.94 at an impressive strike rate of 146.87. While he was batting yesterday, he overtook Nicholas Pooran's aggregate of 592 runs. Buttler's Caribbean counterpart scored those many in an innings less than Buttler.
The stumper-batter was looking all set for a big one at Chepauk. However, he was caught at the deep midwicket fence of an Axar Patel delivery to end his innings with 10.3 overs of the innings still left.
Below is the list of the batters with the most runs against India in T20Is:
No. | Player | Innings | Runs |
1 | Jos Buttler (England) | 21 | 611 |
2 | Nicholas Pooran (West Indies) | 20 | 592 |
3 | Glenn Maxwell (Australia) | 21 | 574 |
4 | David Miller (South Africa) | 22 | 524 |
5 | Aaron Finch (Australia) | 18 | 500 |
Unfortunately, England ended up going down in both the games despite Butter's glittering performances. The series opener was an utter batting which the visitors were at the end of, a seven-wicket hammering after managing to post only 132 on the board.

However, it was a much improved outing in yesterday's game. In fact, England had India by the scuff of the neck at one point of the run-chase. Nonetheless, England went on to lose by a narrow two-wicket margin with only four deliveries to spare.
