England were on the verge of elimination from the group stage of the ongoing T20 World Cup. However, with two back-to-back wins over Oman and Namibia, the Three Lions changed their fortune and qualified for the Super Eights on Net Run Rate (NRR). They defeated West Indies and the USA in the Super Eights and have qualified for the semi-finals where they are slated to face undefeated India.
Ahead of the high-voltage clash at Providence Stadium in Guyana, England skipper Jos Buttler noted that the Men in Blue will be aggressive in nature and assured that the Three Lions will be countering that with the same brand of cricket with the hope of qualifying for the finals. The 33-year-old also lauded Indian captain Rohit Sharma, who played a blistering knock of 92 runs off 41 deliveries in the last match against Australia.

“We're playing against very different India side here. The way Rohit leads his team and the way he bats, they play with a hell of a lot of freedom and try to be very aggressive,” Buttler was quoted as saying by The Standard.
“That was probably a shift for them after that (2022) tournament and they played like that in the 50-over World Cup as well. They're very confident in that style of play and we'll have to be ready for that. We know they'll be aggressive and we'll be the same,” he added.
You can only control what you can control: Buttler
The weather forecast for Guyana during the match hours doesn’t look good. There’s a massive possibility of rain playing a spoilsport and interestingly, there’s no reserve day in place, unlike the other semi-final between South Africa and Afghanistan. In case it’s a washout, India will progress to the final by virtue of finishing on top of the group in Super Eights.

Addressing the situation, Buttler mentioned that there’s nothing England can do about that and added that he is optimistic about a full game after talking to the locals.
“You can only control what you can control," Buttler said. "We'll just have to wait and see and be ready for whatever situations arise. Generally, when people talk about the weather, you end up getting the full game in,” Buttler concluded.
