Hosts England were forced to draw their three-game T20I series against arch-rivals Australia. The reason for the same being heavy rain, which caused the game to be abandoned without a ball being bowled. Australia won the first T20I by 28 runs.

However, England gave a spectacular show in the second T20I, defeating the Aussies and levelling the scores. Both sides geared up for the series decider and were set to take on each other at the Old Trafford in Manchester on September 15.

Constant rain forced the game to be abandoned, and both sides will now shift their focus on the ODI series. It is worth noting that England and Australia will face off across five ODI games, which will be held on September 19, 21, 24, 27, and 29.

It is worth noting that England will be without the services of Jos Buttler in the ODI series; star batter Harry Brook will be leading the side in his absence. Many eyes will also be upon Liam Livingstone. The star all-rounder was left out of the ODI squad earlier on but was included after Buttler was ruled out.

Livingstone was named the Player of the Series for the T20I series, and he recently came forward and talked about his recent performances, stating that he has started to enjoy his cricket.

"I've enjoyed being a bit more involved, getting a chance with both the bat and ball with some of the boys being away so I'm back enjoying my cricket,” Livingstone told Sky Sports.

"It's been a different environment and I've just really enjoyed my cricket. I want to try and be involved as much as I can in the game. I haven't always been able to do that lower down the order. I've tried to do it to the best of my ability. I'll bat wherever I'm told to bat. I want to play for England for as long as I can but hopefully I've proven that higher up the order is better for me,” he added.
