England Women vs India Women 3rd ODI: Weather Forecast for ENG vs IND: Weather near London on September 24
The third and final ODI of the series will be hosted by the iconic Lord's Cricket Stadium in London.
The upcoming game at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London will be a very special one for India, as the Women in Blue will lift the trophy, having defeated England in the first two games of the ODI series. India took an early lead by winning the first game, and continued the momentum in their next encounter as well to clinch the series early.
The Lord’s game would be a special one for the entire Indian side, but specially for Jhulan Goswami, the legendary veteran pacer, as she will be bidding adieu to international cricket. The 39-year-old will end her career with more than 350 international career wickets, and as the highest wicket-taker in Women’s ODIs.
India, before coming into the ODI series, had suffered a disappointing loss against England in the T20I series. After levelling it 1-1, they lost the third game and lost the series by 1-2. But they did not let that T20I series defeat have any affect on their ODI campaign. Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Goswami, and Renuka Thakur have been some of the finest players in the series so far.
Though the Women in Blue have already won the series, they will look to end their campaign on a high note by bagging a win at Lord’s. India has already scripted history, by defeating England on the English soil after 23 years, and also just the second time in the history of Women’s ODI. The make the win even sweeter, India would look for a 3-0 series whitewash.
Here’s a look at how the weather will behave during the ENG-W vs IND-W clash:
The weather at Lord’s will not cause much trouble to the two teams, as a full fledged match is expected to be in place. The game will begin late in the morning, at 10AM local time (3:30 IST). As per weather.com, it will be partly cloudy till afternoon, but there is a forecast of very light showers at 3PM local time (8:30PM IST). But that won’t have much effect on the game.
The pitch at the renowned stadium typically favours the bowlers in the first few overs, offering amazing swing for the pace bowlers. But as the surface settles under the sun, batting typically gets substantially simpler. The team that wins the toss will probably choose to bowl first with the goal of limiting the opponent to a par total while utilizing the help that the pacers can receive in the first innings.
